when the Bond Head United Church Women met in the Sunday School March Mrs Barbar Wilcox was in charge of the program on food and she referred to kit called Focus on Food 77 which con tained information on hunger in the world and underdeveloped countries The Bond Head UCW agreed that redistributing food would be helpful Overpopulation was not considered serious pro blem and it was felt that many countries are producing foods that can be exported at good prices and neglecting the needs of its prople Small farms were also found to be more productive than large ones on an overall scale display of books on the topic was introduced by UCW topic Frences Moore Lappe authority on health nutrition Mrs Anna Johnson con ducted the worship service on the theme Love and Service Mary rr sang and Mrs Johnson paid tribute to Mrs Andrews for her many years of faithful service in the church Mrs Jackson thanked the ladies for their fine Worship and program during the business period The more strongly held views on the governments antiinflation program after series of meetings and discus sions with constituents The majority opinion was that the program is effective and that the government should be in no hurry to remove con trols he said stating he would be glad to hear further input from interested groups with as boards of trade chambers of commerce labor unions con sumers or any others who have views on how the controls pro gram should be phased out NEED PROTECTION In referring to the controls program the member from Brampton commented It is my opinion that the exercise will not have been worthwhile if we immediately go right back to unacceptable igh rates of inflation have been disap pointed that the groups do manding an immediate end to the program have not ac companied their demand with voluntary comrnittment of restraint am sure the government would remove the controls much sooner if the larger com panies and labor groups would give their commitment that their price and wage demands would be in line with the growth of the economy and its ability to meet the demands am afraid that not many groups are offer ing this commitment There taking the controls off by size of company or to stagger it by having them come off at the end of current contrasts and fiscal years have some good resource material that would be pleas ed to send to
