Barrie Mens Recreational Fastball League Thursday at Georgian College The pm meeting is billed as an organizationaltype of gathering open to the public prospective teams and volunteers willing Its at this meeting that Tony Palumbi current league president will introduce proposal which if accepted could revamp the fastball picture It concerns the Barrie and District Major Fastball League and the recreational loop getting together to count blessings and figure out some method of balancing out both leagues One suggestion and the one attracting the most attention concerns system of bumping up couple of the stronger teams from one league while dropping down the weaker entries in the other League at the end of each season or some One thing is certainboth Palumbi and Gary Calvert president of the Major League would like to see change in They both would like to see something come about that would strengthen fastball in the city Last year the recreational league could boast of six reasonably strong teams two which sat in the middle and two real weak teams said Palumbi The Major league had two strong teams two in the middle and two weaker clubs It was only natural to have fastball fans as unit thinks about suggested changes One problem the recreational league has is the senior and intermediate class ball players who want to play in its lalumbi The recreational lcaguc can boast of players with in ermediate senior and experience as well players with experience in the Ontario Fastball League Palumbi noted that there wasnt large splattering of these type of players but enough
