all the letters had written going back to our honeymoon She had kept them in her bedside table tied in blue ribbon When we found them we wept together and my husband whispered Thanks angel Sign me Glad Did Dear Glad The wife who writes letters to her mother inlaw does it as much for her husband as she does for his mother Thank you for sharing For What its Worth Remembering yesterdays By MARGARET WORTH My children are definitely not as adventurous as they used to be was sitting on the beach last week trying to decide if the world was ready for my new highcutleg swim suit Cer tainly the daughterly reaction hadnt been too encouraging When emerged gingerly from the security of my bedroom the silence was deafening Is that it said one of them finally dont you have wrap or something Your father likes it mumbled desperately hooking down the back edges They smiled kindly and left Determinedly straightened my back tucked in my tummy and hastily re adjusting all the straps hurried after them to the beach So there was sitting on the hot sand rather wishing for the old green twopiece that had done me so well other years if only someone hadnt put it in the dryer on extra hot last fall and melted the top lay back and rather drowsin watched some nearby children They were all playing so nicely close to their parents My mind drifted back few years to the times when our two oldest used to pour sand all over each others heads and how they had once dug huge pit and buried themselves and half their toys in it Then remembered how they always used to wander off and get lost in impossibly short stretches of beach Suddenly found myself chuckling little Recalling the earlier somewhat disapproving faces of my darling daughters as they viewed my new swimsuit decid ed that maybe should gently remind them of their own ven tures into the world of revelation At various stages in their very young lives the three oldest of our five had divested themselves entirely of their clothes in public The first time was doubleheader so to speak when daughters one and two throwing caution and nightgowns to the winds had regaled early morning bus travellers with display of small fat tummies pressed to the glass of their bedroom window as they waved smiled and danced for their delighted audience Number three was not quite so spectacular She had simp ly removed borrowed swimsuit and stoically walked home half block from neighbors house wearing nothing but her size four shoes and determined scowl drifted off to sleep still smiling some yesterdays are good to remember Pollys Pointers Ammonia removes film POLLYS PROBLEM DEAR POLLY My husband dug up number of very old bottles and hope you can tell me how to clean them They had been burie for years and have brown film on the inside that cannot wash away MRS EC DEAR MRS EC There is chance that your husband discovered some rare and very interesting bottles suggest that you take them to an antiques dealer and see if you can learn something about them before you do anything if such dealer has no suggestions you might leave tea leaves and vinegar in the battles to soak the brown film Then put tiny tacks or small pebbles inside and shake to try to loosen the film Then use bottle brush and scrub with warm soapy water and then water to which you have added household ammonia Good luck POLLY DEAR POLLY Instead of freezing all my fresh lemon juice in cubes grate the amount of rind called for in my favorite lemon pie recipe mix that with the proper amount of lemon juice and freeze in small jars When want to make pie have both the juiCe and rind all ready LJL DEAR POLLY have great old remedy for getting rid of roaches It is clean safe and money saving too Sprinkle borax powder all around the pipe holes corners crevices under the sink etc The roaches walk in this and carry it home and soon you will find only small ones and then no roaches at all It may take little while but it works and is final MRS CH DEAR POLLY If you want small bit of onion and have only large onions on hand cut off the piece or two needed and then peel the uncut onion wrap it in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil and put it in the refrigerator It will keep for weeks and be fresh and odorless JEANETTE DEAR JEANETTE have very good luck keeping such cut onion in plastic bag that is fastened with twistle and then stored in the vegetable bin in my refrigerator POLLY
