Examiner Able coaching is one of the most important ingredients for success in any sports organiza tion And for the Barrie Gym nastics Club that bill is more than filled by Nicky Emms The dedicated and ambitious 22yearold Barrie resident has been at the helm since she took the initiative to form summer gymnastics program for the club three years ago Under Emms direction the clubs competitive recrea tional and kindergym pro grams have blossomed and new boys recreational group was formed this year She helped set up the clubs first annual Barrie Gymnstics Club invitational meet last year which the host club won Emms is now preparing her gymnasts for the second edition of the event slated for June at which title in its Central Collegiate Barrie will defend against four Toronto clubs and another Penetanguishene from Midland The number of gymnasts par ticipating in all sections of the NICKY EMMS head coach club has grown to almost 300 not including the summer camp which will run this year from early July to Aug 24 Emms and her staff of 12 are at work almost every day try ing to improve the club in all respects including making the sport recreation and en joyable for local youngsters The interest is there she said durng recent aftemoon session of her girls recrea tional program The kids are really enthusiastic and anxious to learn All that has to happen for things to really get going is for parents to look at gym nastics and to consider it for their children Its an educa tional proceSs people just dont know enough about the sport Emms knows lot about the sport and
