used to wear 38D it should have been 38E but there is no such size Ive never gone braless even in swimsuit since was fully developed at age 16 Those pounds of flesh are too heavy and painful to hold up without help even if the help is made entirely of nylon and spandex engineered like corset designed by Torquemada few years ago on day when the temperature was in the 905 just thinking about synthetic fibres gave me rash remembered the breastbinders for nursing mothers made of straight strip of fabric wito added shoulder straps rein forced with pins So tried it making buttons and button holes because sugar sacks are no longer to be had and sheet ing is too tight to pin it was relief but it cut across my shoulders so cut the straight line into curve Six bras later had design that suited me very well and Ive been wearing it ever since The blamed thing has 18 darts and three separate pieces of tunnelled elastic but its sure worth it JB Dear JB if your handmade bras have solved the problem fine but for heavybreasted women who cant sew Im sure welldesigned bras are available in lingerie shops and department stores In extreme cases breastreduction surgery can be performed Your family physician should be able to recommend plastic surgeon who does this procedure Please dont ask me for names Dear Ann Landers In December of 1978 you printed letter from man whose wife had three affairs in eight years He said she had an insatiable desire for sex and needed to be adored 24 hours day He understood and forgave her You called him candidate for sainthood Shortly after another letter appeared from man who de scribed his wife as dead in bed It seems her selfimage was greatly enhanced when she had an affair with another man who proved she was very much alive in bed She at tempted to pass along to her husband the techniques she had learned from her lover but he was not interested Your candidate for sainthood may well have had the same undesirable characteristics as the husband in the second letter uncaring inadequate selfish and ignorant of womans needs plus stubbom unwillingness to fulfil them If my husband had paid enough attention to me would not now be involved in an exciting whirlwind affair with an other man after seven years of marriage My husband is fine father and an excellent provider but he is lousy lover and deaf to my pleading for emotional stroking and physical tenderness Print this please ive got lots of company Its Me Talking Honey Dear You There is some validity to your complaint and Ive heard it before But perhaps your teaching approach was crude and damaging to his ego Be more subtle and seductive Keep trying Dont give up Erma Bombrfl Tribute to mothers My mom was visiting the other day and in anticipation of Mothers Day started to sing traditional song that has always given both of us lump in our throats is for the Cloupons in her cupboard is for the alf price sales she haunts is for her Einergysaving tactics is for her Amtiextravagancc is for her Piatiencein recycling means Yiears of saving foil and twine Put them all together they spell MOTHER but that is not the bottom line Mom has always been sensitive about my lack of thrift The day she saw me throw away zippered bag of plastic that had only held shredded lettuce she told everyone have no daughter She was lost in the war have to admit that perhaps thrift skips generation Somehow never shared my mothers zeal for con servation She invented knots in Shoelaces The first time saw whole pair of shoestrings thought there was something wrong with them She launders aluminum foil and dental floss and hangs them up to dry She cuts the bottoms of plastic tubes of hand lotion rinses out bottles of bleach and liquid soaps and saved every box she has ever received anything in She sin cerely believes that toothpicks were put on this earth to dig lipstick and chap creams out of the tube in all the years have known her have never known my mother to throw away rubber band Her gifts are in boxes that have been in reruns for as long as can remember No leftover is too small to save No remnant is too skimpy to hang onto No sample is sparse enough to pitch out Shes wonderful manager nononsense saver and credit to homemakers everywhere But when she is around me she drives me crazy trying to convert me to Savers Paradise see youre still throwing money down the drain she said plucking piece of chicken skin out of the sink When eat it it settles on my neck said As she shook her head started to sing is for the Cioupons in her cupboard is for the She got lump in her throat got mine elsewhere Pollys Pointers Offers tip to start pen DEAR PIlY Quite long time ago there was Pointer in the column telling how to get ballpotnt pens to start writing have
