seek alternatives to the tua Former alderman deputy reeve dies Former Barrie alderman and deputy reeve James Harvey Paddison died in Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on April 16 1979 He was in his 87th year Mr Paddison was born Oc tober 14 1892 in Petroiia the son of the late Mr and Mrs Paddison He was educated in Lisle On tario and later moved to Bar rie For several years Mr Pad dison was fireman for the Grand Trunk Railway based in Aliendaie He then travelled west to Winnipeg on harvesters ex cursion Laterhe became member of the Winnipeg Police Department retiring after 27 year service On retirement Mr Paddison and his wife returned to Barrie whre he worked as carpenter at Camp Borden He served as foreman for the foundation company that built the present Barrie Post Office Mr Paddison served as an YOU TWO CAN WIN alderman in ward and was deputy reeve in Barrie in the 1950s and early 1960s He also served on county council An avid sportsman Mr Pad dison was charter member of the Barrie Curling Club and the Barrie Revolver Club as well as member of the 14 Hunt Club He was predeceased by his wife Ethel Ranson in 1967 Mr Paddison is survived by one daughter Doris Mrs Joseph Pratt of Stroud two grandsons Brian of Craighurst and Dale of Barrie one grand daughter Margot Mrs Robert Dunn of Coldwater and five great grandchildren Also sur viving is one sister Lottie Mrs Ray Dagenais of Acton Mass Rev Stewart Liddel of the First Baptist Church officiated at the funeral Honorary pallbearers ere Howard Morris Delbert Hickling Oscar Hickl ing and George Bowles all of
