will wait no longer The committee decided Thursday during meeting at Lafontaine to ask Dr Bette Stephenson to intercede in the stalled negotiations with the Simcoe County Board of Education over separate French language high school for Penetanguishenes French community The first letter outlined the desire of the committee to have distinct school built and asked the minister for an opportunity to meet with her on the matter While Dr Stephensons reply has not reach ed chairman Dr Germain Gauthier spokesman for the ministry told The Ex aminer Thursday letter has been sent Dr Stephenson will not meet with the committee the spokesman said Dr Stephensons position is simply that she wants the local parties to come to an understanding on the issue with as little in terference from the ministry as possible The minister did say in the letter that ministry officials will be made available to discuss the issue Simcoes board favors construction of an annex to the existing high school in
