administration of dictatoria oppres sion of dissidents and workers Grigorenko 70 compared the arrest and conviction of dissrdent scientist Uri Orlov to the kidnapping and murder of former Italian premier Aldo Moro by the terrorist Red Brigades The Red Brigades fortunately havent come to power in Italy but they already have in the Soviet Union he told about 350 persons at rally in support of Soviet political prisoners Grigorenko who spent more than six years in Soviet prisons and mental hospitals for speaking out against government policies said Orlov was denied an open trial He said only members of the KGB Soviet secret police and Orlovs wife and close relatives were allowed to attend his trial which ended in guilty verdict this week Grigorenko was visiting the United States to undergo an operation when he was stripped of his Soviet citizenship in February for what his government said was behavior damaging to the prestige of the USSR What sort of prestige is it if one madman can undermine it he asked through an interpreter Task force director quits OTTAWA tCP Reed Scowen resigned Friday as ex ecutive director of the Task Force on Canadian Unity to seek the Liberal Ont tCP Ontarios tourism minister says visitors and Ontario residents may be discouraged from using provincial parks because of recent fee increases In telephone interview from his Toronto office John Rhodes said Michigan may become more popular for campers than Ontario He said that comparison of facilities in Michigan and Ontario parks does not justify the higher fee in Ontario He said his opposition to the higher fees was overruled by his cabinet colleagues who decided to place priority on hav ing park users pay larger share of operating expenses Rhodes said he is not too familiar with bargained in bad faith commission spokesman said Friday Jim Kilgore said the com missions chief executive of ficer must appoint someone within 10 days to investigate the charges filed Friday by the 425 teachers Our hope would be that the matter could be resolved by the person who is ap pointed Kilgore said If it isnt however the charges would then be submitted to the commission as whole Teachers locked out by the board since May have ac cused the board of refusing to meet and negotiate in an at tanpt to end the 16month contract dispute that closed eight secondary schools in municipalities
