The names of the clergymen to be invited and other details of the visits were not made public If Khomeinis promise is carried out it would be be the first time in weeks that some of the hostages would be seen by out siders Others have not been seen since the embassy was taken The Iranians have threatened to bring the hostages before tribunal of some kind after the holidays The embassy militants say Barrie Christmas Scrooge lurks The Salvation ArmyCKBB Radio Stations annual Christmas Cheer program usually br ings visions of children donating hard earned money to help others and adults bringing gifts for children who might otherwise have giftless Christmas This Christmas however along with the donations toys and gifts delivered to CKBB were five boxes of garbage including broken picture frames paper rubbish and burnt pots and pans It was disgusting said Jeff Walther radio announcer and one of the campaign organizers Nothing like this has ever hap pened before But it would take more than one scrooge to dampen spirits at CKBB where floor space is laden with tins of soup candy canes dolls and other gifts of Christmas cheer The Christmas Cheer campaign is an in tegral part of our year said Walther Its nice It does cut down on space here but when you know what its for you dont mind Last year $21000 worth of food and toys were collected and split between 364 needy families This gasoline bargain Friday at all Esso Imperial Oil stations in Barrie Unlike some stations that are giving rebates to regular customers and those who kept their sales slips Imperial is hav ing gas sale to make up for the short lived increase in the gasoline prices of last weeks federal budget At the E550 SelfServe Station Cundles and Bayfield Streets Marilyn Jupp atten dant said she had never seen the station so busy She reported that all day Friday at least 20 vehicles waited to filler up The station which is open 24 hours day sold regular gas at 196 cents litre unleaded at 21 cents litre and extra unleaded at 222 cents litre Sunday when the sale is finished prices will be 239 cents litre for regular gas 254 cents litre for unleaded gas and 205 cents litre for extraunleaded gas Brian Jupp Marilyns brother and WW manager of the Essa Station at 80 Bayfield said refunding would have been difficult because most customers dont keep receipts The company settled for gas sale The sale was an
