Peter Hsu Bu rka veteran speedskater making her mark as cyclist WINNIIEG 1li Sylvia Burka has been the foremost speedskater in Canada for so long that her teammates call her Grandma But as cyclist shes an up start The 25yearold is perhaps the only Canadian athlete to be worldranked in two such different sports She competed in her first world speedskating champion ship at the age of 14 There have been 10 since then along with two Olympic games and another Olympics is fast apr proaching Ive been around so long guess people think Im stringing them along when tell them my age she says Come on they say Youve got to be more than 25 Youve been around for years decades even But in cycling its another matter HAVING PROBLEMS took up cycling one sum nier about four years ago be cause was
