STORE to aid its fight to have the program cancelled The organization says the program is pro communist and that the state has not right to teach course on values education to children STORE requested the board supply it with information on the program considered essen tial if proper campaign against the program as to be mounted The board refused saying in formation on the program has been available all along to inte jested groups and will be available again when all revi sions are completed and field testing continues The program as fieldtested in 160 schools countywide dur ing the centre By STEPHEN NICHOLLS Of The Examiner BARCLAY Heritage Bap tist Church will reopen its Christian day school this fall by leasing the Alcona Community Centre after the Ontario Supreme Court closed the school run in the Little Avenue Church Innisfil council agreed Wednesday to lease the centre to the church at $250 month for 10 months The church opened Heritage Christian Academy Sept 1978 despite councils warning that the church would violate Innisfil bylaw goes back BARCLAY bylaw forc ing Innisfil residents to clean up their yards and make buildings safe will go back to councils church must repair the building to meet fire safety and health standards but the township will repair any struc tural damage All operting costs including maintenance will be paid by the church Heritage Baptist Church will also insure the building The centre is to be used only for school purposes including extracurricular activities formal agreement must be signed by the church and township officials and special council meeting will be held to pass bylaw permitting the transaction said Andrade Church officials are eager to begin preparing the centre because they hope to open Sept Mr Pennell said the building once used as school is well suited to their needs and will reuire few renovations He said the work should be completed ina few days Mr Pennell told The Ex aminer the school will probably have 60 students from kinder garten to Grade Although the church has not advertised for students it has been flooded with applications and its quite likely well have waiting list he said During its first year the school started with 37 students dropped to 33 but ended the year with 39 Studies are Christian oriented and centre around God instead of man said Mr Pennell Students work at
