relations program fieldtesting to continue By TERRY FIELD Of The Examiner During speciallyscheduled meeting Wednesday the Simcoe County Board of Education decided to continue fieldtesting the human relations program during the up coming school year However clause that allows for further input before final approval is granted also means the program will not be ready to go when school opens September Im quite confident that well have it in place sometime during the first month said Dr Robert Thomas the boards superinten dent of curriculum Trustees and community groups invited to play part in the revision process have until Wednesday to file additional written submis sions concerning the program or comment on the most recent set of revisions After that date it will take time to sift through the material Dr Thomas said The motion also places the power to grant final approval of the program with the boards committee on moral education The committee of trustees will resolve any outstanding details concerning the course of study During its June 27 meeting the board postponed full implementation of the pro gram that had been scheduled for the fall and cancelled further fieldtesting pending revision of portions of the program and review by trustees Wednesdays decision demonstrated the boards satisfaction with the most recent changes that give the program the more pro nounced Christian viewpoint requested by moderate opponents of the program during series of meetings in May when briefs from the community were presented mule the program implied as it stood that the
