program for youth The Kiwanis Club of Barrie is commencing community ser vice program called Hand in Hand with Youth club president John Burgar said Monday Burgar said the purpose of the program is to involve children in activities which will supplement the role of the family itself in teaching basic beliefs and basic values Through the program he said Kiwanis members will work with young people on onetoone basis helping them to attain proficiency in sports hobbies and even business and profes sional procedures Burgar said questionnaires would be developed and distributed to young people with the consent of parents and teachers asking what activities or hobbies might interest them Similar questionnaire will also go to Kiwanis members will be matched later on the basis of mutual interests Hand in Hand with Youth is Kiwanis International pro gram Burgar said and is the sequel to Rightstart another Kiwanis youth service program which started last year Rightstart was so successful in its twin objectives of helping young people learn and practice the baic virtues and strengthening the family unit he said that it was decided to continue the program with the emphasis on the onetoone rela tionship Burgar also said the program as being continued by the Kiwanis because of the concnern for the decline of the fami lys influence and the resultant lowering of the moral standards of young
