roll music Most parents have no idea what rock music is all about be cause they pay no attention to it If they listened to the lyrics theyd be shocked For example Get Down and Make Love tells story of homosexual love Another Cold Ethyl by Alice Cooper is an incredibly vulgar song celebrating sexual perversion Wild Love by Frank Zappa is thoroughly offensive number The words to Some Girls Rolling StoneS could not be printed In family newspaper Acceptance of marital infidelity is the theme of many rock songs Part Time Love written by Elton John and Gary Osborne has Elton John singing Youve been seen running around Dont tell me what to do when youve been doing it too Everybodys got part time love Copyright 1979 by Big Pig Music Ltd Is it any wonder there is so much teenage sex promiscuity pregnancy outside of wedlock and couples livmg together without marriage When young people hear this trash for hours on end they accept it as the ordinary everyday way of life urge every parent to turn on the radio and pay close ttention to the words of the songs The next step is write to local station and tell the manager exactly what you think of the programming If no one complains the stations have every right to assume its perfectly OK and there will be no end to it Thanks for letting me have my say Want Better Environinent For Youth Dear Want Thank you for addressing yourself to subject have been hoping someone would write about Ive been hearing about the filthy rock and roll lyrics for long time and decided to tune in and listen Twentythree years of this column have made me virtually shockproof but some of the lyrics were incredibly crude and offensive support your suggestion that parents tune in and listen to what their children are hearing hour after hour If they dont approve they should write to the local station and complain Dear Ann Landers was furious at the reader who said you should be horsewhipped for telling 17yearold girl to have plastic surgery on her nose She said it was mining her life and wanted your opinion You okayed anything that might improve your looks For years wore glasses with lenses that looked like Coke bottles was nearly blind without them They were heavy They pinched They slid down on my nose had no peripheral vision My eyesight was getting progressively worse My doctor recommended contact lenses No more Coke bottles No more pinching No more sliding No more blindspots where the glasses werent Most im portant of all my vision stabilized Contacts arent for everyone but they surely helped me That turkey deserves boot in the snoot for spouting off If he spent his life trying to see out of my eyes hed be grateful the good Lord gave humans the intelligence to help them selves 202Praise To Heaven Dear 2020 believe my advice to the 17yearold girl was good and stand by it Glad your contacts have made such difference in your life Thanks for sharing Erma Bombeck lnfear otLL There is person who takes trip out of the country who does live in dreaded fear of the LL Experience Lost Luggage have been on trips where poor devils have been two days ahead of their luggage for the entire trip You try not to notice the ring around their collarcuffswaistbandshems You try to feign joy when they show you their newly pur chased toothbrush and dental floss You are tactful when they squirm uncomfortably in damp underwear that didnt dry during the night We have just returned from trip out of which columns are made We flew from Phoenix to Los Angeles and our luggage was there We flew to the Fiji Islands and our luggage was there We flew to Sydney Australia and our luggage was there Sydney to Perth and it was still with us From Perth we flew to Adelaide and witnessed yet another miracle From Adelaide we shot up to Brisbane an were confirmed believers in the airlines From Brisbane to Melbourne our luggage once again appeared From Melbourne to Sydney was piece of cake as our four pieces of yellow luggage came tumbling off the conveyer belt FIRST no less We wavered bit when we flew from Sydney to Port More sby Papua New Guinea but lo and behold there it was From Port Moresby to Madang from Madang to Goroko and back again to Port Moresby and Sydney we watched in absolute disbelief as the Bombeck luggage whirled around the carousel We watched it being loaded on the flight to Auckland New Zealand so its arrival was no surprise But we knew we were pushing the odds as we breathlessly awaited its arrival in Wellington It arrived but we were worried We were trying for the Guinness Book of Records and we knew it even rechecked my tags with the airline to make sure he had our next stop Rotorua but he did and they did and we were ecstatic We flew to Auckland and our luggage was there We flew to Los Angeles and our luggage was there bringing the total exchanges to 18 We flew to Phoenix They lost our luggage Pollys Pointers Removing coffee stains POLLYE iUDLEM DEAR POLLY careless guest illed coffee on washable blue noiron tablecloth an na kin Please tell me how to remove such stains not on from this washable fabric but from fine linen cloths MRS BG DEAR MRS BG Old and dried coffee stains can be hard to remove First try putting stain over big bowl and fasten with rubber band Pour boiling water through the stain holding the kettle high above it If this removes the stain then wash as usual Test effect of boiling water first If cream was in the coffee it should first be treated with cleaning fluid to remove grease white linen cloth could be soaked in gallon of water that has two tablespoons of peroxide added Leave couple of hours and then rinse two or three times If the blue fabric will take it the same could be tried on the cloth that is now stained POLLY DEAR POLLY Marie wanted to know what to do with hard marshmallows Please tell her the trick is to not let them get hard in the first place Simply put marshmallows while still fresh in the freezer They thaw very Uickly and find they
