networks Sun day and Tuesday Riel seems bound to bring instant stardom in English Canada to two lead ing actors from Quebec Ray mond loutier as Louis Riel and Roger Blay as his chief lieutenant con troveisial and in many ways least appreciated or understood pages of history Rlay as Dumont is the real storyteller recalling his years with Riel Ioiig after the hanging when Dumont was star in Buffalo Bills Wild West on gress of Roughriders In the Riel saga Dumont sharpshtmter showed native generalship which twice out shone the British command of the government troops As portrayed by tIoutier Riel was dedicated leader of his Indian halfrbrecd Metis and early Prairie settlers trying to keep hold on the land they had tamed against the official eiicroaciiinents of the new central
