gram of Scottish dancing and singing and an address by Mr Bill Murray The Alliston and district horticultural society meeting was held Thursday night in the Agriculture Science Room at Banting Memorial Appreciation was expressed to Rev Mr Lewis for the gift of gardening book written by Ken Reeves Mr Phipps described the care to be taken with exhibits donated for lucky draws Then too the local con cern for Boat Peoples World Vision to which approximate ly $4000 year is contributed from Greenhouse Fund An excellent film was shown Growing Together which il lustrated what some of the 60000 members of 250 hor ticultural societies throughout Ontario are doing to beautify their communities Gladys Kel ly presided In the minutes the full slate of officers was read Gladys Kelly president Helen Shibish first vice Ed Smith second vice Marjorie Jamieson secretary Beatrice Haxter treasurer Helen Mur ray Helen Baxter Nina Whiteside Mr McCarthy and Barbara Floyd are one year directors and Bridle Mrs Kay Tombs Mrs Mayer Mrs Joyce and Mrs Collins are two year directors Three busloads of pensioners from Alliston Tottenham and Heeton enjoyed the Ice Follies Jan 27th at Maple Leaf Gardens ne busload returned immediately after the per formance and the others had dinner Staff members and families from Alliston Salada firm were also at the Ice Follies ur getwell wishes go out at St Johns the worshipers were served soup sandwiches sweets and beverages in the Shilton Hall Following lunch the annual church meeting was held Rev Peter Moffat presided at the meeting He read the names of the deceased and twr minutes silence was observed followed by short prayer ul former minister Rev and Mrs Shilton were present Rev Shilton retired at the end of June after 25 years as pastor Rev Peter and Elizabeth Moffat and son Andrew came to Alliston from Western Ianada Peter took over the pastoral duties in September Jack and Margaret Plaxton of Owen Sound spent the weekend in
