beef dge while Glenn Atkinson of Schomberg was dairy judge The champion beef steer was shown by Del Bertram of RR Elmvale with Bruce Greenlaw of RR Elmvale reserve champion winner The grand champion beef calf was also shown by Del Bertram with Bruce again reserve winner BEST BEEFHEIFER The leading winner for best beef heifer was Ken Trace of RR Elmvale with the reserve champion shown by Joanne Hall of RR Wyevale Larry Agar of RR Phelpston won the champion novice beef showman class as well as the reserve showman class Darryl Wright of Elmvale won the reserve novice showman event The champion junior dairy heifer senior heifer and grand champion winner was Michele Moreau of RR Phelpston Lisa Robertson also of RR Phelpston won the reserve grand champion and reserve junior champion as well as win ning reserve champion novice showman class in the dairy calf section Lori Robertson won the senior heifer class with Roger Spence of RR Elmvale reserve winner Brian Lambie of RR Wyevale was reserve champion showman The novice showman in the dairy calf class was Jackie Ar cher of RR Elmvale The 4H 1976 program will conclude with banquet at which awards will be presented at the Presbyterian church hall here on Wednesday Nov The Elmvale Lions club spon sors the 4H beef and dairy clubs Paul Bertram of Elmvale and Louis Mason of Coldwater are the beef club leaders while the dairy club leaders indclude Michael Jacobs Mike Conn and Jim Baks FIELI ROPS LLB The Georgian +H Field Crops Club will hold its awards ban quet at Elmvale on Wednesday Oct 27 Allen Mosley of Wyebridge is the club leader and the North Simcoe Soil and Crop Improvement Association is the sponsor Don Atkinson of RR Barrie won first for corn silage in the 1976 competition with Roy Nahuis of RR Elmvale first for mixed grain and Robert Miller of RR second In the grain corn class Paul Drysdale of RR Wyebridge was the winner with Harry Van Casteren of RR Phelpston second and Murray Maxwell of RR Barrie third John Mosley of RR Wyc bridge won first for oats ColdWater Library has budget surplus By SHIRLEY JENNETT All members of Coldwater Library Board were present for the Oct meeting held Oct 19 at the library general discus sion was held regarding the success of the library booth at Coldwater Fair and it was stated many favourable com ments had been received It is hoped that booth will also be maintained next year It was learned that Al Watt of Col dwater Home Hardware had donated sheet of plexiglass to protect the old copies of the Col dwater News which are on display at the library The treasurers report in dicated bank balance of 3235737 with credits amoun ting to $1728 and debits of $27227 The budget for the year was reveiwed and the members were pleased to find they were right on target with an $80 surplus which will be added to the book budget increasing it t0$550 It was decided to spend $175 on childrens and juvenile books and $375 on adult books Publishers generally give 35 to40 per cent discount on adult books which enables many ex tra books to be purchased The book buying committee com posed Of librarian Mona Beach Linda Hass Pat Clark and Eleanor Sheppard will meet at the home of Miss Sheppard Oct 27 at pm to make their final selections Two big expenditures which had been budgeted for this year were painting and the installa tion of new lighting for the building The painting was completed in the summer months and at this meeting it was decided to have John Bur bidge of Custom Electric go ahead with the installation of new lighting as soon as possi ble
