Linc have 18 inches of water in their back yards because of the blocking of natural water course The creek normally only an inch deep runs cast parallel to the 81h Line to Lake Simcoe In Mr RamsayBrowns back yard it comes down off an elevation and runs practically horimntally east through Mr Johnstons back yard The problem is in the next year Bob Scott who lives on the next lot east has been raising the level of his land and this says Mr ltamsayBrown has blocked the creek Mr Scotts WINNIE JOHNSTON of Al cona Beach is up to her knees in water in her own back ard The flooding is due to lockage of natural water Il lot is now about foot higher than Mr Johnstons and there is no culvert through his pro pcrty Mr RamsayBrown and Mr Johnston said they are unable to get Mr Scott to do anything so they went to Innisfil Council But that was two weeks ago said Mr RamsayBrown They havent done anything yet and in the meantime Im unable to use half of my proper ty And the water is so deep that small child could drown in it REFERRED CASE Innisfil Council has referred the case to the South Lake Sim coe Conservation Authority Mr Scott has little to say on the matter He says flooding is problem in the area and that everybody has it course The blockage is land fill in the lot next door in background The Johnstons have approached Innisfil Im just trying to improve my lot Its what worry about most and guess dont worry too much about my neighbors lots hope something can be done because have water on my front lawn right now But there are still 18 inches of water in Mr Johnstons back yard and he and Mr Ramsay Brown see Mr Scotts landfill as the sole cause The rain in the last week has caused pro blem now and Mr Ramsay Brown is worried about runoff next spring It will flood out our whole yard he said Already Mr Johnston has water in the crawlspace under his house and it could cause rotting Ive spent $3000 on improvements to my house and this water is doing it no good
