Helen Hopkins new board president Real Estate Board sets 78 objectives The main objective of the Barrie and District Real Estate Board BDREB throughout 1978 must be to promote and work for community development and to encourage good public relations This is the sentiment ex pressed by the boards outgoing president Harold Davis Monday at the Barrie Golf and Country Club In this respect personally feel that we as board are not doing enough It is time that we stand up and be noticed Davis said To encourage the community involvement objective the BDREB is sponsoring concert at the Georgian College Theatre on April 15th featuring bilingual youth choir called the Corpus Christi Choir This choir from Oshawa gets standing ovations wherever they go Davis said Preliminary response here in Barrie has been great The theme of the concert will be on national unity songs from coast to coast in Canada PROMOTE STANDARDS Davis stressed to the audience that the purpose and function of the real estate board is to promote standard prac tices and professional stan dards in the profession According to Murray Stovell chairman of the BDREB ethics committee it is the respon sibility of each real estate broker to uphold and enforce the real estate associations code of conduct The question over the past year has been the unforcement of our code of ethics We require our members to speak out so
