evidence MONTREAL CP The RCMP considered withholding evidence on participation in 1972 illegal police breakin from Quebec justice authorities after the affair came to light in March 1976 say RCMP docu ments tabled at the Keable commission Wednesday But Michael Dare director of the RCMP security service de cided against the move In stead he handed over an edited version of secret report pre pared by the antiterrorist offi cers involved in the raid at leftwing news agency the Agence de Presse Libre du Que bec the documents said The final version was given to then Quebec solicitorgeneral Fernand Lalonde The words stealing or theft were changed to removal or seiz ure while illegal entry was changed to entry without war rant An RCMP officer had noted that the original report pre pared in March brief which dEntremont thought to be incriminating DEntremont also testified that he believed the RCMP had information that the Agence de Presse Libre had contacts with the Irish Republican Army IRA
