Exgovernor of Lions honored at Alliston By MARGARET STOLTZ ALLISION District Gover nor George Green was the guest of the Alliston Lions Club at recent meeting when he presen ted John Taylor with plaque for meritorious service in recognition of his interest in promoting Lions During Mr Taylors term as district gover nor 15 new ctubs were formed in District A12 Membership awards went to Gordon Smockum lt30 years member Les Besley and Harv Stuart tZO Years Joe Deadman 110 years1 and John Brooks yearsr former member of Sinicoe County Council Mr Taylor ser ved some 15 years on Alliston council good representation from Alliston Merchants availed themselves of an opportunity to learn iiore about Store Security at seminar held in the Alliston Town Hall as training program developed by Georgian Cleaners Started by the late Garfield Armstrong and his wife the former Lillian Hughson they had three dif ferent locations in Alliston prior to building their own shop in 1940 at the present location on Paris Street This successful operation is now operated by Mrs Armstrong and her son Garfield and now employs five other people Although the towns main tenance department were kept busy during the
