Mechanic needs rubber gloves Dear Ann Landers have been married for nine years to an auto mechanic whose hands get covered with grime When we were going together he often showed up with cracked and bleeding hands because he has sensitive skin and the cleaning agents were very hard on him Now he uses ordinary soap and his hands never look clean The problem is actually mine not his since Im the would appreciate any help you can give meThe Nag His Name For Me Dear Wife Can your husband work in rubber gloves the type surgeons wear Buy him pair and ask him to try it Another alternative is somewhat new producta liquid which forms an invisible glove After applying this coating the grease and oil wash off with ordinary soap and water You might also check the drugstores for hypoallergenic mechanics soap One of these three suggestions should work Let me know will you Dear Ann was interested in your response to Shafted In Flint You said The ex who slings mud tells more about him selflthan he tells about his former spouse Im not sure you are rig My ex blabbed to everyone who would listenmade me out to be moneygrubbing shrew His entire family bought the story and sided with him alone Ill share some of mine It is must to water well the evergreens and shrubs in the foundation planting around the home before freezeup This is especially true if you have an overhang which prevents the usual rain or precipitation get ting to the shrubs To this end and being an eternal optimist left our plastic hosenozzle and all all 100 feet of it attached ready for the hour the weather would let me finish my chores Alas the day hasnt come In stead the nozzle froze on the hose the hose froze solid the coupling froze to the tap and the tap froze solid Lucky for me it didnt burst So got the tea kettle thawed out the nozzle got the coupling off the tap melted the ice out of the tap so could open it and turned off the water inside The had 100 feet of frozen hose to put away It is usually put on hose holder and kept indoors There seemed only one thing to do try to get it into the basement to thaw Well after what seemed an awfully long time finally got it gathered around me so felt could shove it into the base ment Feeling like mouse in the talons of hawk got inside the house door hose twined around me hit the first step slipped and bumptybumpted the rest of the way down Somewhat hurt in more places than one decided to leave the old hose and tend it next morning forgot it was full of water so next morning you can imagine the me5s had to clean up before finally got the hose put away Now still havent got those evergreens watered so do hope you all have better luck VISII WIIH US AI SlitICOIt OUNLY AHOESI INDOOR OPEN 03023 SHOPPING MAIL WILH IIMAIE compouw cowoni Roses still have not been covered and if we dont get thaw so can get soil on them Ill use peat moss straw and evergreens Did get the fish covered with straw over the top and hoses in for oxygen but was hoping to use all the oak leaves on it If cant get them Ill have to use straw again We leave our fish in the pool all winter It may come as shock to many as it did to me to learn that Cygon which we have been relying on to pretext our birches is no longer effective against the birch bore they have become immune to it Before Spring comes Ill delve into this matter and see what other means are available to protect them Remember to protect your trees from the mice and rab bits The easiest way is to paint the trunk and lower branches with mouse and rabbit repellent Wrapping the trunks or using fine wire around them will also do the job but it is lot of work SOCIETY NEWS The Barrie Horticultural Society is sponsoring series of Horticultural demonstrations on able every Tuesday at 730
