Creemore arena The ministry wrote that there have been great inadequacies in the type of construction which is the same as that in the Creemore arena and that they want detailed structural analysis of all truss members and bolted connections and analytical proof that the struc ture is capable of safely withstanding variations for the accumulation of non uniform and unbalanced snow loads on arched and curved roofs Also calculations for the top chords for combined bending and com pression They urge caution in using this facility in wind or snow conditions They also suggest that perhaps the inadequacies of this type of construction were previously corrected at some earlier date ouncil has also received letter form Reid and Associates stating that their structural report is correct and that there is no cause for con cern over the use of this arena They further stated that they will be in touch with the ministry of labor regarding this matter Part of the problem here seems to be that there was some work done on the arena in or around 1958 but no records of just what Work was done are availablc from the firm as they went bankrupt some years ago You Are Cordiolly Invited To Attend
