Not tawasaga reeve am retiring for the present on my doctors advice said the 1975 county warden stating he infromed colleagues on the Nottawasaga council of his decision at the monthly meeting yesterday Although he said he felt somewhat better Reeve Currie told his colleagues he intended to follow his physicians advice He had spent some time in Royal Victoria Hospital at Bar rie and was deputy reeve for five years and coun cillor for five years Previous to that he served for five years as school trustee for Nottawasaga area No native of Nottawasaga he has lived in the township practical ly all his life In Simcoe County circles Reeve Currie was frequently commended by colleagues for his good leadership as warden and chairman of general government and finance His primary concern was the tax payers who had to pay the bills and he gave this emphasis to his colleagues many times Reeve Currie also was among the county leaders who opposed moves toward replacing the county administration with regional government system chiefly on the argument it would increase taxes and mean more centralization of powers havent changed my mind at all he said noting this con tinued to be
