SOCIETY NEWS The membership in Barrie Horticultural Society is now well over the 2000 mark The Arboretum Committee toured the Arboretum July 22nd vigorous spraying for insects on some trees is to be done immediately There have been some thefts some win terkill and some trees damaged by vandals All are to be replaced at the proper plati ting time Mr liaking makes all the labels for the trees and shrubs in the Ar boretum He announced he has lot ready to put up and more are being done An extension of 400 to 500 feet of water ntain was approved Mr liaking reported con siderable money being spent for daily upkeep of the ar boretum and not much money coming in All in the ommittee were most pleased with the look of the Arboretum and its progress and warnin commended Nor man Synott on the project
