Business College 12 years Mr Jose graduated from Victoria College University of Toronto in 1933 with Bachelor of Commerce degree and then completed studies at the Ontario College of Educationn Toronto for his Commercial Specialists teachingcertificate After teaching in Mimico Hamilton and Kirkland Lake for 12 years he left the pro fession in 1946 for two years as director of alumni ac tivities atthe University of Toronto and business manager for the University of Toronto monthly magazine He suggested the location and style of the Alumni War Memorial and he established an Alumni Loan Fund for students In 1948 he purchased the Barrie Business College which he continued to operate until 1970 He then sold the building to the Canadian Tire Store and closed the school Through those years Barrie Business College supplied of fice personnel for Barrie and SimcoeCounty In 1950 Mr Jose established Simcoc Business Machines in Barrie selling business machines office supplies of ficc furniture and repairing and servicing business machines He sold this business in 1966 to Nick Stap per Mr Jose returned to secon dary school teaching at Alderwood Collegiate In stitute in Etobicoke in 1960 leaving his Barrie school with staff under his weekend supervision He remained at Alderwood Collegiate for 16 years He was the first night school principal at Alderwood when night school was established there in 1966 On June 10 the Alderwood Collegiate staff held garden party in his honor in the school quadrangle On June 19 some Barrie friends gathered at the Bayshore Motor Hotel to
