was explained MADE SURVEY The idea for bus for senior citizens in Wasaga Beach was started by Mr Ramsey past president of Don Eglin ton Kiwanis when he noticed taxi pull up to the local medical centre last December Inside was wheelchair patient who had difficulties getting out of the car and inside the building Wondering how many sen ior citizens and handicapped people would appreciate us service Mr Ramsey learned that there were over 1000 senior citizens in Wasaga Beach or ap rox imately 25 per cent the population After ap roaching busi nessmen an others who sup ported the idea Mr Ramsey outlined program to provide bus service to the town coun cil He was able to report the project had full support from oth local senior citizens clubs Mr Ramsey also discussed the project with Dr Gus Mitges MP for GreySimcoe George McCague MPP for DufferinSimcoc and Arthur Evans MPP for Centre Sim coe and learned various grants were available from New Horizons for operational costs and from Wintario for the purchase of the bus Two buses similar to the one proposed will be transporting senior citizens here on Saturda June 19 from Owen Soun and Parry Sound as guests of the Wasaga Beach
