make bold statements on major social problems like water quality andhousing At the Forum site on English Bay they supported rCSolu tion demanding clean water in all world communities by 1990 and spending by governments of $3 billion year for 10 years on water projects MAKES PLEDGE And they heard Justice Minis ter Ron Bastord head of the Canadian delegation pledge clean drinking water in every Canadian centre by 1980 This is not meaningless gesture he said as many natives north erners and people in other re gions are without adequate sup plies of clean water Mr Basford also said the Ca nadian delegation will ask the conference this week to back resolution setting target of 1986 for clean water everywhere in the world This was goal outlined by British environmentalist Barbara Legally
