Womens Institute were awarded prizes Tuesday for their work in maintaining good quality house records at the 11th annual meeting of the SimcoeKempenfelt District Womens Institute which was held at the Ivy Orange Hall The theme was Preser ving Our Cultural Heritage Mrs Mel Jamieson of Guthrie won first prize for house logs Mrs Roy Good fellow took second prize Mrs Gordon Rix of Stroud received first prize for house and farm logs and Mrs Miles Hickling received second prize Mrs Foyston area curator presented the prizes Mrs Norman Tuck of Crown Hill said the logs were judged on style valuable photographs detail such as architectural house design overall appearance of the logs originality and research andcontent She praised the women for their work in their logs so that interest in preserving culture could be continued in the future by having information about various buildings Judges for the awards were Mrs Maguire of Minesing Mrs Tuck and Mrs Dianne Keene of Oro Station Crown
