playoff series Thomas turned in his third consecutive standout perform ance for Toronto Maple Leafs who blanked Pittsburgh Pen guins 40 in the other playoff game The Leafs took the best ofthree series 21 and ad vanced to the quarterfinals against Philadelphia Flyers who are seeking their third Stanley Cup championship in row The Sabres also won their series 21 and now meet New York Islanders in
