Whose garbage is it lakefront owner asks By PETER DEPODESTA Examiner Staff Reporter Ken Oakley has lived on Kempenfelt Bay since the 1930s and this year hes disgusted and upset Wood and garbage from somewhere in Barrie is washing onto his 300 feet of waterlot property as the ice begins to leave the bay Mr Oakley of Barrie Terrace an area just outside the citys east boundary said the refuse is causing him few problems cleaning it up The job may be easy for youngerman but after three heart attacks it can be dif ficult task Especially if the garbage continues to float onto his property sunpose could iust wait for wind change and let it wash back out but that wouldnt solve the problem he said Somebody else along the bay would just have to clean it up The garbage includes large planks pieces of either dock or fish hut barrel or two and other assorted pieces of material Mr Oakley said his main poblem is trying to store the material and disposing of it Most of his property is steep slope leading from the Cana dian National Railway tracks tothe water Ive piled some of it along the shore out of the water but what am going to do with it he asked The township Oro wont allow us to burn it Every year he said certain amount of refuse floats on his property but this year is worse than ever Its just disgusting he said Everyone is supposed to be so concerned about the en vironment the club and damaged about six to eight other huts on shore Just the other day we had to fish small boat out of the water which someone had shoved in during the night and set adrift he said Mr Bishop said occasionally some of the clubs floating barrels get away but the mem bers try to collect these The garbage probably in cludes fishhuts and everything else he said dont think its lot of junk
