moving operations several days ago They will be missed by neighbors on the 5th concession Howard Dunlop RR Cold water had the misfortune to lose calf as the result of savage onslaught by two large dogs sheep was also so badly mauled it was felt it would not survive This type of incident seems to be on the increase and area farmers are quite con cerned With the increase in population in Medonte Town ship as result of the new residences being erected and occupied it is to be expected that the canine population would also increase The sad thing is that many of the pets are allowed to roam at will which often leads to unpleasant happenings Parents of small children are naturally on the alert and are anxious for the safety of the little ones Mr and Mrs Randy Toole and Lee of Midland visited on recent afternoon and evening with Mr and Mrs Gordon Smith and boys Randy had the misfortune to lose parts of two fingers as the result of welding accident at his place of employment He underwent surgery at St Andrews Hospital Midland Walter Bannon and Norman rid of Vasey visited with the Barrs at Deepdale Farm recently Indications of spring have been the various song birds the first rehearsal of the frog choir the groundhogs which have been peeking out of their tun nels for weeks and some of the more courageous went strolling on the snowy fields The rac coons have taken to rambling and are constantly seen Mrs Odor Skunk and her family of kittens were noticed crossing local field few weeks ago Perhaps they had been evicted or were just changing their place of abode Or could it be they Mrs Con stance King on Wednesday March 31 at Penetanguishene General Hospital Mrs King resided with her daughter Mrs Theophile King on the 4th con cession of Medonte and suf fered cerebral hemorrhage on Tuesday evening She was rushed to the hospital the same night In her 96th year Mrs King has always been active and alert She was resting at Beausoleil Funeral Home Penetanguishene awaiting funeral mass at the Mount Saint Louis Church on Saturday morning at 11 oclock with in terment in Mount Saint Louis cemetery Sincere sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved HILLSDALE By MRS LEA
