Vic toria times to the present Mrs Bliss also recounted stories of her cxperlencc on the Titanic when it lsankw She was one of the surviv lbrs Born in Switzerland she lmovcd to Englandafter marriage She was widowed while still quite young and had young family to raise She became stewardess on the illfated Titanic She now lives quietly with her son Harry retired school teacher at the beach Aboard the Titanic near Newfoundland on Sunday April 15 1912 about 1130 pm Mrs Bliss was wakcned from her sleep as the ship collided witbnn ice berg After dressing she went to the bow of the boat andher deck station She actually touched the iceberg which towered high abovs the boat she recounts Rescue operations were in full swing She was lifted by one of the ships officers and dropped into life boat which normally held only 50 people There were already 90 people in it as it was the last life boat to leave The order was women and children rst The officer then threw twoyearold baby into Mrs Bliss
