the important event at Longchamp in October Sporting Life bible of British racegoerssays Four and Twenty currently cleaning up in California would probably be ridden by evergreen Johnny Lnngden who parts than any other Canadian owner He has had some half dozen runners in the Epsom Derby and last year his colt Snysambu ran close second in the Irish Derby British fans would welcome the appearance of Fourand Twenty as reminder of his sire Blue Prince which won good race at Epsom before being exported to the United States and his dam Sixpence which when trained by Paddy Prendergast was one of local people involved in presenting this carnival Costumes lights tickets programs props scen ery music scripts makeup all have to be arranged Many hours are given to behind the scenes work which when coupl ed with the work of Mrs Emms and Mr Fisher make up the successful carnival we saw on March at It is to be hoped the Barrie Skating Club can continue to grow and expand its facilities With an everincreasing number of children wishing to partici pate it will be necessary for some changes to be made in the structure of the club before an other season It is the wish of the president and directors of the club to discuss these vital changes with as many parents as possible Now that the club has reached such mark of success it would be shame for it not to have the support to continue this good work The directors would be pleas ed to discuss their future plans with the parents or anyone in terested in furthering the skat ing movement here in Barrie For this purpose plan to at tend
