Harsé Sense No Ojke When school opens at Central Collegiate next week Barbara Lloyd former pupil will be back but this time as to teach er She will teach science sari culture geography and girls physical education she was member at the first girls basketball team from Cen tral to win Central Ontario Sec ondary Schook Association championship GIRL AND HORSES But the story of Barbara Lloyd Is not altogether story oi girl and books it Is largely story of girl and horses Mira Lloyd said it all started when she was about five and her parents bought her little pony Rosy felt all her more than third year at university she was on the team Judging meat carcasses at the international Show In Chicago And in her fourth year she was on the team Judging livestock in Chic ago and made the dairy patient in Sunnybrook Hospi tel Toronto for short period On Wednesday even ng Masonic service was held at the James Lynn Funeral Home On Thursday Aug 16 the funeral service was canduc ted by Rev to teach them how to ride it Miss Lloyd re ealls There was just one pony 12 children and me and that was how it all started That summer we took two horses from my place over to Mr Voods farmsAnhevlilc That was the first linnevlllo Horse Show Next year he bought an ex trs pony and boarded one at my lilolrses too so we had three to The following summer there werosa many inquiries about teaching riding that decided to leach from my own place and by laid we had seven horses Since then the riding school has expanded to 22 horses and more thanlau pupils We still have our horse show every year the second last Sunday in Aug ust and it has expanded from twohour show in 1953 to an all day show for the past three years It is cxcius vely for pupils Another show called the Pe wys Horse Show for to relieve the butterflies My idea was to keep it exclu sively for this area and cut out the top competition so theyd all be beginners Miss Lloyds pupils range in ages from three to 50 She says its sort of dream for most children to own horse and since its not within their pare ents means this is the next best thing Out of all the child ren who have come to me for riding fcssons there were only about three who didnt have the coordination and balance ne county and told their parents riding was notfor them Miss Lloyd took two horses to the Toronto Exhibition last year This year under her care were to horses and colt in the group there were three seconds fourth fifth and seventh The highlight in her horse training career come alter Lloyd Bristow asked her if she train sd iumpers and then charge 01 the hunter iumpcr division She shoes her own horses and says she had to learn to do that when the blacksmiths left this area Miss Lloyd likes Shakespeare and her favorite is Hamlet She
