Michigan State University to attend various schools of ilooai design and to keep pace with the latest devel opment in thetrade in June 1947 he participated as dem onstrator and designer at uni versity extension course at University of Toronto He was the youngest designer prescht and learned much by working with such eminent florists as Vlc tor Grainger Eric Walsh and Mrs Percy Waters More than 500 flogists from all over Ontario and Northern USA attended the course which was sponsored by the United Florists of Canada Bonded Member FTDA Also in 1947 Harris Flowers obtained membership in the Flor ists Telegraph Delivery Associa tion as bonded member This leadin oranization bership of over 10000 tbro out the world and members are 5able to receive and send floral orders to the British Isles throughout the Commonwealth Continental Europe and other parts of the world even Russia Art Harris has been member of the Barrie Citizens Band for over20 years having studied rumpet under the late Band aster Michael Angelo Mr Harris was lieutenant in the two years and also mem er of th Barrie Lions Club Bar of the Canadian Legion Horticultural and Town vement Society and Barrie her of Commerce
