VDevelopment Roads For County System The highlight of what is sive road program planned in considered to be most exten the history of Simcoe County is the approval given by the Ontario Department of High ways to two development road schemes The department is also giving consideration to request by the County for third road to be designated as development road The Department of Highways has agreed to the construction and paving oi the mad between Cookstown and Highway 400 distance of two miles The de partment has estimated that its share in this project will be $119 800 and it is expected to com plete the grading this year The County will be purchasing the necessary rights oi way and will pay for the relocation of tho utilitiu it is expected that the bill will be in the neighborhood of $5000 Last week the County signed an agreement with the Depart ment for the construction of 13 mile stretch between Angus and Crccmorc This road the survey ing of which will start shortly will have granular base and paving and will necessitate the construction of two bridges The cost oi the project has not been estimated yet but it is likely to 330m the neighborhood of $400 Consideration is being given by thedepartment to the request at the county to designate theroad from Ailiston to Ballicroy as development rdad This is the first time in the history of the county that develop ment
