Cana dianswlll play the game as though nothing was wrong The soccerltes used to play at Queens Park High school football games used to be played there too The playing area part of which is nowthe out ï¬eld for softball games was in pretty rough shape few years ago soccer and football were out The schools played games in their own baclqard The soccer men were pushed to the Fair Grounds The onetime pitch and gridiron was tilled and supposed ly levelled all to the advantage of the softballers It was after these changes and renovations that we suffered sprained ankle Just from trotting to our position in right field Naturally we complained aboutthe field Monday fielders in softball game were critl icized and spectators chuckled as the result of this same land Pat Wannamaker surefooted goodcatch fly chaser with Stewarts Lunch of the Barrie and Dis trict Senior Softball League looked like novice on one occasion during this game He charged ball rlghted himself to make the stop and then wheeled and cked up the dirt in desperate chase seemingly harmless single had taken hor rible op and scooted at almost right angles away from him Alibouncing ball that hit soft spot and rolled instead of continuing its bounce fooled George Fal coner of the same club in centre field These are just couple of examples Similar instances have occurred in other games this summer Each year money is spent to haul gravel to cor rect dips in the field It may be wise in future to consider all of the players The outfielder is an important fellow too Its enough that he should be embarrassed by crazilybouncing ball But what if hesuffers injury chasing it That wouldbe lust too bad ueens Fork despite its shortcomings is the park Barrie Shear Park in Allandale the second ary l1 layout is in need of similar repair Biggest three to health there is long gravel ditch in right eentre field More outs have dropped fonhits in this area than any other These obstacles just dont belong in in
