and Murray Mills turned back the challenge of their only opponent Wilbert Archer in word three HEADS POLL Heading the poll was Mr Morrow He pulled total of 1050 votes close second was Molar Frank Hersey ward one who polled Loos votes Those were the only two older men to get more than thous and votes Hersey topped the poll to ward one Charles Wlson local lawyer and highly regarded alderman an the present council garnered 979 votes and led the field in word two Present city alderman Roy Marcellus was popular victor in ward four He polled the largest number of votes in that word which going to school in Barrie and is former case worker for the Childrens Aid Society Mr MacLaren who visited City on last night while the votes were still being counted assumed casual but confident Oac voting Their identical tally was 823 Mr MacLarcn led the polls in both Words One and Two and ran second in Words Three and Four Ed Norman topped him in Word Four and Dr Seymour was the winner in Ward Three Noel Stephenson was one of the consistent contestants He placed third in Words One Two at Three and fourth in Word Four He was only 40 votes removed from third place in Word Four Ed Norman
