holiday table Wassaii an old AngloSaxon toast meaning to be well or whole was originally pledge drunk between close comrades But for some 1500 years wassaii has been the festive drink of the Yule In the time of King Henry VII it was simple brew of ale heated with sugar nutmeg and roasted apples and shared between king and commoner alike FESTIVE BEVERAGE Around the nineteenth century the mistress
