morn ing June claimed the life of Brian llelmer Olson beloved son of Mr and Mrs Otto Olson of Bellatt Township Brian was born in Kenora July 21 1951 and would have celebrated his third birthday next month From information received it is belived that Brian was in truck driven by his mother which Mrs Olson parked on drivean located at the top of an incline above the house Mrs Olson had Just gone into the house when sevenyearold Gordon rushed in to warn that the truck was moving down the hill Mrs Olson rushed out and in attempting to stop the vehicle was knocked down suff ering severely fractured 1e an cuts to the head The truck sgtruclcti the back steps tearing them away then continued down the hill and into the water Mrs Olson Sr went to the res cue but was forced to abandon her attempts It wasnt until 25 min utes later that the body was re covered from the submerged truck first aid team from the Kenora FireDepartment and the Ontario Provmcxal Police tried without success to the Division start Ilhe southern roadway of the Canadian General Stiff Tests In the first of the stiff tests called the Senpentine fifedriver must manipulate the vehicle in zigzag fashion around barrels and still keep within chalked lines on either side and then must do the same stunt but in reverse real test of skill The next move was to guide the right wheels of the car between twopariallel lines or rows of rub ber balls mounted on short pieces of pipe without knocking the balls off The clearance here was only two inches on either side of the tires This was known as the straight line driving test From here came the offset lane test where they must drive flhmugih lWD sets of parallel barriers set at right angles to one another to assimilate 45degree angle lane They then proceeded
