niversary On Monday evening after the Barrie Womens Institute 30th anniversary dinner one of the older members who was glancing through the first minutes book with the president Mrs Reg Adamo challenged her about the correct ness of the celebration As the local branch was recstablishcd in 1923 she felt that the anniversary should have been observed last year Mrs Adams disagreed and supported her opinion by remind ing the other lady that you would not celebrate your first birthday before you were one year oldnor your 30th birthday bcftirc you were 30 years old Minesing and Centre Simcoc District Womens lnzstitues can be gin to wonder whether thcy should have been celebrating their 50th anniversaries when they were founded in lQOIalthoughit does seem matter of choice In way missed something in the neighborlioodvof five to eight meetings in the past 26 years Just up the street from the In stitute party there was another gathering being held in mood of celebration and its pity that the entertainers of the evening could not be persuaded to give another performance Last year when Trinity Junior Guild was holding its annual closing party Several members who were in Centennial mood decided to present nursicai skit in costumes of yesteryear and the whole event was such suc cess that they decided to stage imilar show this year The l954 theme was hillbilly and there were some Dogpatch characters in it who would have to be seen and heard to be apprc ciatcd and identified to be recog nized At one hilarious moment of the production whole group of the pipevsnioking mammys and mountain boys did wonderful chorus number Like Mountain Music ending with fancy quad rillc and another Guild member broke into fast step dance to the music of Little Brown Jug lean mountain
