At Home For Churchill Hall May By FRANK STONE The South Simcoe Junior Farm ers are planning an at home and dance for Friday evening May at the CommunityHall Churchill Miss South Simcoe Junior Farmer will be chosen at this time For the past two years at this event similar contest was held at which May Queen was chosen Each local club will nom inate one of their members for the title The six young ladies will then be judged by qualities of gen eral character and personality for the title of Miss South Simcoe Junior Farmer of 1954 Of course this attracts great deal of inter est and presents rivalry between the six lccal Junior Farmer clubs in South Simcoe What About Weed Spraying The 4H Grain Club members will receive demonstration on their plot of grain this year on the effectiveness of weed spraying in grain fields The South Simcoe Soil and Crop Improvement As sociation have purchased sprayer consisting of fourgallon tank on wheels with boom and the pro per nozzles When the weeds are at their worst this will bé taken to the club members farm and de monstration will be conducted showing the club member the method employed and the cost of spraying to control weeds 4H Clubs Popular This year more interest than ever before has been shown by the boys and girls in South Simcoe in 4H swine clubs There is atotal of 71 members in the three swine clubs Dhis presents real prob lem in supplying the young pigs for each club member 11 is the responsibiity of the sponsoring or ganizaitions to locate thgseflpigggyso with each member requirinigtwo it can be seen that large number of litters must be inspected and great deal of work must be done to arrange for this large number Most of the other clubs are show ing an increase in membership as well and if large number of members
