met in the Court House Barrieon Tuesday April 20 At the request of Albert Cats vert the managaing director Miss Dorlha Jackson told the Board that there has been an average of 13 more children per month in the boarding home care of the Society for the first three months of this year over 1953 There were 759 more days of pay care this year And at the per diem rate of the Society this has meant increase in maintenance costs of $1442 for the three months The Board Members discussed the rapid growth of Simcoe County in population and industry and also the effect on the Society of the proximity already started the sanitary services of the Simcoe County Health Unit have announced that polidy has been approved and will be carried outiand enforced in the future The main features of the new policy are Before the construction bf any sewagedisposal system including septic tanks and privies is com menced it is necessary to obtain notification form whichth be filled in giving details as to loca tion size capacity construction weeping tile etc These forms have been distributed to clerks contractors suppliers etc This form must be completed and returned to the local health unit office and the applicant is advised to await confirmation written or verbal from the san itary inspector to ensure that the proposed specifications meet with the health unit requirements At least two days notice must be given to the Simcoe County Health Unit by the applicant when the system is ready to be inspected and such inspection must be com pleted before the system is cov ered in or put into operation If the system meets the re quirements of the Simcoe County Health Unit written approval will be issued by the medical offi cer of health under Section 14 Schedule of the Public Health Act Anyone installing or putting into operation sewage disposal system without receiving the writ ten approval of the medical officer of health is liable under the above section Where the total number of oc dealers here fell below last years at tendance figures but show chairman Batstone claimed the event was more attractive and considered an even greate success from the dealers standpoint Attendance tigums for Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening totalled around 3100 wit hthe evenings of course carry ing the heavier load This the third year for the show and indi cations arc that it
