DARBY Secretary Waverley On Jan 17 1940 group of farm ers interested in crop improvement work met in Barrie to organize the North Simcoe branchof Crop Im provement Association and to affil iate with the newly organized pro vincial organization known as the Ontario Crap Improvement As sociation At the same time and up to the present 54 county and district branches have been organ ized in the Province of Ontario Through ï¬ield demonstrations and experiments this organization has been interested in improving farm crops and ailter ofï¬cially in corporating Soil to its name in 1952 the scope of its work has been broadened to include the improveJ ment 0d soil as well as crops and now is known as the Soil and Crop Improvement Association Asour Creator has entrusted us with the care and management of the top six inches 61 the soil it is our definite responsibility to werk with Him in providing hood for all monldnd and from one generation to the next it should be our aim to leave our soil in as good orbet ter condition than we re ceived it Our program calls tor denion strativons and projects in land use better cropping practices use ort fertilizers introduction of new varieties of
