most complete setups ofuany Squadron in Canada Realizing that it was not practicw al to make the old Mdrkct Building into suitable place to carry on the Sqlladrons activities the presenil buildng was erected and complete ly paid for by the Kiwanis Club of BarrieWith the splendid coopcr ation received from the officers of the Grey and Simcoe Foresters who have pllt the facilities of the Arm ollries at our disposal the Squadron can carry on all its activities underI the most favourable Conditions The Cadet building is approxim ately 20 42 feet and across the East end are the Orderly Room and Equipment Room The Orderly Room is the Commanding Officers office and contains records of each Cadet as well as all corespondcnce instructions re the training alid the organization of thcBGuadron in the Equipment Room are all types of equipment required to carry on the instructions in the various sul jects taught in the syllabus of train ing Besides all items of clothing that are carried in the high in importance and is enjoyed by the Cadets as given by George llrickc The subject re ouiresclose attention and careful study First Aid is taught by Nor man Synnott and Arthur Smith This is subject that is always of value and well Worth knowing Mathematics as required for navi gation is taught by Wilmer Howell and while this is rather dry sub ject it is preliminary to thc fas cinating subject of Navigation Norman Synnott also teaches Met eorology and WC Jack Johnson in structs in AntiGas The Command ing Officer FO Leighton Clarke and the Adjutant FO Paul Fisher supervise the administrative duties of the Squadron and give the Cad ets instruction in Air Force admin istration Dr Lou Bigelow assisted by FL Kester of the RCAFggives Vinations 14 The RCAF working ut of No Training Commandin Toronto givau es the Squadronclose cooperation and supervision Each Wednesday of the month they are visited in succession bythe Command Cadet Officer and threeCommand NCOs The Command Cadet Officer checks on all general problems and con sults with the civilian committee and ourliasion officer FL Potter of No SFTS FLfotter acts as the gobetween between theaSquad ton and No SETS Camp Borden Squadron comes Every Wednes day an administrative NCO visits the Squadron His duty is to sup ervise all Orderly Room details re cOrds and returns Following him is ifssgaunropsr an educational NCO whg covers all phases of instruction except drill randthis iseeoveredJeyradisciplin arian NCO who gives the Cadets Drill and also drill tests any Air Cadet NCOs to qualifythem for their rank These men are RCAF personnel and devote all their toAirCadet work No 102 Squadron parades Monlt day and Wednesday evenings from 730 to 930 Each summer Cadetsare taken to an RCAF station for ten days camp where they live and work just like the alrmenmon the statipn During the year visits are made to flying stations and each spring the Squadron is inspected by high ranking Air Force officer The local Squadron is fortunate in the High type ofboys it has and every endeavour is being made to give them an interesting and var ied program of instruction which will be of value tothem
