ber of BdiiiéWfiltS Montifactttrés CGE Dollies titanic Works CGE News Dollies are being manufactured at Barrie works Not the kind of dailies which we associate with the really young females but dolly which will add mobility to the popular GE Swivel Top Vac uum Cleaner The customer has demanded mobility in vacuum cleaners one reason being that they are used extensively in the cleaning of rec reation room floors We do not know at present what the demand for these dollles will be but we have set up line for their manufacture in the mot orlzed devices assembly area The girls who are assembling the new dollics are from the motor assembly area where we had some spare capacity and also from the Food Mixer assembly line where we had some reasonable stocks built up in line with our policy at bal ancing out production in the in terests of steady employment all of these girls were placed on the Esscmhly of Jiollies when we know what the de mand for the new dolly will be we will set up permanent line and quite reasonably be adding still more jobs to an expanding work force The new doliies have many good features which will make them most acceptable nieans of adding mobility to our vacuum cleaners They are light in weight and yet of solid construction Rubber bumpers to protect the furniture four smoothrunning casters for manouverability and secure yet simpletoopcrate means of at taching them to the cleaner all add up to very acceptable product They are finished in durable baked enamel finish to match the color scheme of the vacuum clean er and are attached to the clean er by simply pressing two spring clamps which hold the cleaner rigidly in place In the accompanying photo graph we see setup man Lorne McGibbonand clockwise from him are Carole Meyer who is assem bling the holding clamps Marion Fralick attaching casters Betty Thompson attaching rubber bump ers Lorna Buscombe who is per forming rivetting operation and finally June Reid who is packing the finished product after final inspection As we develop new lines and rearrange equipment in our move to the new addition in the coming months there will be many moves of personnel froni one line to another just as there has been in setting up for daily assembly CLOWES Special church services on Sunv day March 24 Service at Crown Hill 11 am Dalston 139 pm Speaker Darrell Thmpson mem Leighton Ford
