responsibility flow ever she managed to pin crests on Neil llurtibese Patsy Hill Joan Miller and Ray Walton These volunteer leaders are doing won derful thing in giving their time to aid others St Marys Playground Here we have small play ground small supervisor but my what vim and vigor Of course there are days when nobody seems to want to come to the playground or do anything but that happens everywhere The attendancehcre is fairly steady and Miss Mary Harris is ready and waiting to take on any comers in fast game of checkers Wearing the Playground Leader crests at St Marys we nd Joan McVeigh and Walter Urry St Vincents Park Barbara Burdette Elaine Bruno and Roger Tomlinson are the vol unteers who are helping Miss Joan Petersen to keep things running smoothly here It wouldnt Colleg iate Institute Board met for dis cussion Willi members of Innistil township council for round table discussion on school matters Morrison MBE chair man of the board presided over the meeting Cliilord Lockhart Reeve of Innisfil headed the township delegation Matters discussed included school administration under the high school area arrangement and other matters It was explained that the school levies were made on the equalized assessement of the vari ous municipalities whose students Emiliehigh school Following this part of the meet ing the school board members met with Mr Steele of the architectural rm of Page and Steele dis cussion was held to consider the most advisable method of provid ing for increased facilities and ac commodation the School As an immediate step to alleviate overcrowding next September the school board is having the small gymnasium converted for uSe as two classrooms This work will be completed by next September and these additional classes will Aug 15 Miss Dunn whois at present librarian of the Lcamington pub lic library was born in Orillia but attended school in Windsor She is graduate of the Univer sity of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto library school After her graduation from library school in 1943 she was ap pointed to the staff of the Wind sor public librarywhere she spec ialized in work with high school March 24 1949 met with an unfor tunate accident during practice battle May 22 He was helping in hauling large Signet Gun across an open field when he slipped and fell in thepath of one of the wheels Ken was confined to hospital for two months recovering from an iii jurcd stomach but is now home on sick leave to fully recuperate He is scheduled to report back in September Three other Barrie boys
