EXPAND STORE Tenders Resignation Stransmans Ladies Wear one of the long established business firms of Barrie have recently completed alterations to enlarge their store The new extensions will give the store an over all length of 185 feet The work was done by the Barrie firm of Bertram Bros The business known as Straits mans Ladies Wear was opened in Barrie 29 years ago and occupancy of the present location occurred in 1938 The store is under the active management of Mrs Stransman and her Son Maurice Stransmnn During the past 29 years the business has grown and expanded with the town until today it is one of the most modern ladics specialty shops and also one of the largest north of Toronto The man agement have expressed their faith in the future of Barrie by enlarg ing their store to provide better accommodation better service and the best in values in ladies wear The new department will be known as the Coat and Suit De partment Stransmans Ladies Wear have been consistent adver tisers 19th century TOWN LOSES TWO PUBLIC SERVANTS This week the town of Bar rie lost two public servants Frederick Kennedy wiui had served the town for several years as tax collector sanitary inspector and collector of license fees died on Monday James Case who served on the police force for many years including term as act ing chief died on Wednesday Following his retirement from the police force Mr
