The Barrie Colts certainly made an impression on the 600 spectators in their initial appearance last Friday! night. Besides the smart brand of' hockey they put up, their uniforms were very neat and set the players off to good advantage. The sweaters are a. deeper red and are much more showy than in former years. They have white two-ply shoulders, white trimming and white Barrie Colt crests in plain letters. This year s outts ,'are easily the smartest in years and should be kept as a copy for the future. While on the subject of the Colts, mention should be made of the at- traction that may be offered the Barrie fans Christmas day. An ef- fort is being made to have a Port |Co1borne team composed of some of the senior players and others not so prominent in hockey as the senior boys play the locals. Dinty Moore, former Barrie boy, and Red Reyn- olds, last year with the Colts, will be the feature attractions, while an uncle of Alber Kirby may be in the line-up. In the last two seasons the Colts have had so many boys try out that this year it was thought a good idea to band the ones who do not make the rst string" together and entei them in the town league. Hewitt, of Toronto, president and secretary, respectively, of the Ontario Hockey Association, and P. J. Mul- queen, former chairman of the O.A.C. A. A. Smith, vice-preident of the Barrie Arena Ltd., introduced the speakers. The Maple Leaf hockey stars were unable to be on hand ow- ing to their late home-coming from_ the xrame in Montreal. The Game The Dukes had a slight edge on the play in the first period, but were un- able to count. On the other hand, while the Colts did not get in very often, they were able to score one, while the Toronto team were a man short. Perry was banished for carry- ing a high stick. This gave the locals a chance to use the power play, wnlcn was successful a half minute later. Bev.
